...that our first/second gen cars are becoming older than most of the members of this site?

Well all things considered my first gen is 22 yrs old and most peps on here have the third gen overall. But it is funny how much times do change but so many do envy the first gen rides like the z24 or hatch back versions with the v6 eng and those turbo'd versions avail. It is not anything new to me but a reminder never hurts. At least mine has done well just makes me appreciate how well built my car is for a first gen.I LOVE MINE!

Zline David..........

must be very careful how one jolts the older folks back into reality now. Might get one that hasn't taken his/her meds yet !

2 '87 Buick turbo J's, i'm 45 yrs. older than each of them.

1 '70 Nova drag car, i'm 29 yrs. older than that one.

1 '59 TVR vintage sports racer, English car well lets just say I had just gotten my license (@17) when it was built.

Yep, time sure flies when you're having fun................

A car would have to be made before men walked on the moon to be older than I am.
Heck, I can still remember thinking "This Microsoft stuff is junk. It will never catch on."

Oh, I'd better get this posted before Winnows crashes again.

Our older cars are easier to work on as well, less electronic stuff to deal with

Yeah, and the emissions rules aren't anywhere near as tough!

Here in NC I no longer have to deal with emissions!!!! All vehicles 95 and back only do safety now.In fact had the old cav inspected last wk only 4months out of date and cost 9.20 kick azz.I just love that my old car is not held to todays bs standards it's just a simple engine with mild emissions equip compared to the newer cars overall.

Nope on the antique or even classic plates which is what my car would fall under in nc.I think the car has to be over 30 yrs old to be antique with out doing some research on my states regulations.I would not mind a classic plate for my old 85 since its 22yrs old.

My 17 year old is always wanting the keys to my '87 Sunbird Convertible. He has a nice S 10, but the top is attached. I think it's pretty cool when you come across people who don't remember seeing one of these cars before. New cars are expected to look nice. A nice looking 20 year old car has to be admired. Mine needs painted so it's not real pretty, but it's still neat and it runs great. And by the way - I'm 50.
