Work in Progress...
Saturday, March 31, 2007 2:30 PM
Figured I was post what I've been up too.

I'm waiting till the summer to get a header for my 87 cav. (my previous post). Money is coming a little tight at the end of the semester.

This weekend I have been working on getting a set of foglights rigged up. Not quite done yet, but I should finish them over Easter.

I have the hood entirely primed.

I have the replacement driverside fender scuffed and primed, but it needs as little touch up in a few spots.

I have a newer lower valance painted, waiting to be scuffed and clear coated.

By tomorrow after noon I want to have the whole front end off. Head light assembly, bumper both fenders.

I'm hoping to get all of parts scuffed and at least primed over easter vacation.

And soon or a later I will get pictures posted!

Any one else getting projects ready for spring/summer?

Well here are a few pictures of my Cavalier that is in need of some attention. This is about a month and a half into working on it. And of course trying to get things done between snow and college.

When I first picked it up:

Light engine cleaning, and a new set of plugs:

Junkyard run (driver side fender, lower valance, and a wing from a Trans Am )

Strip and prime on the replacment Fender:

A little bit of Intake Work:

Scuffed and primed valance:

Outside with the hood stripped and primed, the fender was a test for the color I want to paint the car:

Installing a set of fogs in the grill:

So I haven't posted in a few months.

But I did want to give an update on the Cavy!!!!

The Trans Am wing is bolted up! (not sure if that was in the previous post)

Right now it is still missing the front end and fenders....because they are off and being painted! I shaved the antenna. And the fenders are stripped primeed, sealed, painted, cleared. Ditto on the bumper cover and lower valance. I Need to sand and clear the headlight assembly.

I started going after the front doors as well. All the door dings are bonded out (all 5 of them :-( ) I still need to sand some of the primer, and then spray the sealer.

I stripped all the door ding/side makers off.

The hood unfortunately needed to be left on the car, but it has two coats of paint on it. It needs to be sanded and cleared.

I made an advance up the front pillars. They are primer sealed.

I picked up an better air filter at Carlisle this year. And I ordered the correct size intake elbow for my intake setup. So that will be on shortly.

New serpentine belt in place! The old one was quite worn and squeaked pretty good.

Thats about all for now. As soon as I get around to uploading pictures I'll have photos of the progress!
