Cams for the 2.0 turbo
Tuesday, March 15, 2005 11:47 AM
Has anyone put an aftermarket cam in their turbo 2.0? I need to replace mine, (didn't break it in right stupid me) and I've been trying to find a cam that will let me run a little higher boost, nothing real extreme. thoughts?

I'm planning on using a cam from a MPFI 2.0 OHC it has a little more lift and duration, I know its an NA cam but I heard you cam get away with using one on a turbo motor.

Doesn't the N/A cam have too much duration?

I dont know I just saw the specs for it and it looked good, I'm going to try it in my car when I get it turbo'd this summer and see how it works out.
Fudd - If you try the cam let me know how it goes. And if it dosent work its not like its a real pain to change back, but I'm sure it should work better than the turbo cam. If you do a search for "2.0 FAQ" you'll find my FAQ with all the cam specs for both motors for you to see and determine how good you think it is. I dont remember how much more duration it has over the turbo cam.
