Sad news.

in the words of my machanic...

"dude, it was pointless to run a ECU scan... your motors about ready to say @!#$ you and die".

i laughed so hard.

so, im probably going to be selling this cavalier soon too.

after i just sold the LT3, the 2g is now getting ready to go up for sale. maybe someone can finish what i started, and swap motors. idk. but im sad....

so i figure the car may last till next fall or winter. so im saving for a new whip.

i'd like to get a 2g drop top Z, (92-94) a 1rst gen Z in good shape, or a 3rd gen with low miles and taken care of.

but as of now my price range is 500, so im not really looking. but what ever money i make off the 2g, will get droped into what ever i buy next.

STENG!!!!!

my last post of the month... I was saving it incase I severely needed it, but this was too much of a shocker. DO A SWAP!!!! this is sad indeed

find the 2nd gen drop top Z you mentioned... surely you can find one on a budget, easier than a 3rd gen. Hate to bring it up during the sad moments of your dying sunvalier, but did you see what I found?

Sux to see another J loose a motor, I think you should just complete your swap like you said, but if your going to get a new car, glad to see your sticking with a J Hopefully a second gen, I'm not a big fan of the third gens, but its up to you, I'd hate to lose you to the third gen crowd you've been a big help around here, So lets all pray you find a phase 2 Z24 vert cheap
It cant be that hard my cousin just bought a 89 Z for $300 but its hard top.
Good luck with your search.

i want at least a 92+ for the brake upgrade. but i'll settle for a 90 and up. being as that came with a 3.1 vs. the 2.8.

plus i really hope to strike gold and find the 5spd white vinyl interior, blue body. mmmm sexy...

eh i blew up my 93 sunbird, 4 days after i bought it. got an oil change, took it out for the night with some friends to the casino. i didnt know the oil sending unit didnt work and somehow with in 4 days the car ran out of oil, blew a piston rod, shot it right through the block and radiator. yea good thing i bought the car with cash...cuz i ended up taking out a 1500 loan to fix the car. for some reason i just care too much about my little birdy, and keep putting money into it. prolly should get a new car....prolly wont happen. i'm off to go hand wash her now, tried a new oil in her...valvoline max life...and a valvoline fuel system cleaner. wow does she run so frickin smooth! i just need to get her new doors somehow fix the metal under the doors, new exhaust system and shes a brand new car!

From the sounds of it you have a TBI 2.0 OHC from a sunbird.....Sunvalier has a 2.2 OHV and if he was to use your motor all the wiring and ECM etc would have to be swapped over as well.
