switching to fold-down rear seats..
Thursday, April 07, 2005 8:45 PM
how hard would it be to take the fold-down seats from my Sunbird and put them in my Cavalier? looks like I would have to do some cutting, with the brace behind the seat of the Cavalier and what not.

would this be safe, or does my Sunbird have something rigged up from the factory that allows you not to have the brace behind the seats? i would assume it is ok to cut the brace out but just looking for some opinions for you guys. also would it be worth the work? i like the folding seat for sound quality reasons from my stereo.. + i like to see my amps, etc. hehe.
thanks

i cut those braces out when i did my quad bucket seat setup. the spot welds were broken anyways, so it was no big deal.

Its not a brace just a support for the back rest of the non-folding seat.

oh ok cool. ya i always look too much into things, figured it was some kinda brace to keep the rear deck from collapsing lol. sounds good, i cannot wait to cut it out. i will make up some other kind of brace for the sunbird for when i put the non-folding seats in. rear folding seats would be unreal.
Thanks for the replies!
