How's the reliability on those? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews and understand that GM tried many variations. If you want to keep the car light (and leave things spacious under the hood), this would be an ideal choice. Of course, I have the exact same question about the other obvious choice: turbos, which are nearly as controversial.
P.S. I've been doing my homework and have come to realize that the title of this thread has to be the single, most talked about issue on this forum, and that 3800 swap (no matter how attractive) is not what you want for your first! Of all the threads I read, however, reliability was rarely mentioned.
what good is a 300 hp motor if it never works or always breakes down.
