Master Cylinder Problem

Hey there folx...

ok on my 91 sunbird, i have a brake fluid leak...

it's where my master cylinder meats the brake booster.......

what i want to know is if there is a o-ring that is replaceable or if i need to replace the whole master cylinder or master cylinder & booster together...

not a bad leak but enough that i have to add fluid every couple of weeks it seems, just started tho....

i am thinking that replace it all & be done with it....

but am not for sure

You can buy either one of two items.U can buy a master cyldr kit for about 26.00 at advance or anywhere from 85-130.00 for a new or remanfactured master cyldr. It really depends on what u really want to do.Either way u have to drain the brake fluid out and replace the with the kit or do the whole part and bleed the system after u reinstall.Yes the kit has the seals u need to resolve the leak, however as long as the whole master is ok besides it leaking where it prob leaks at the booster I would do just the kit.U can go to http://www.advanceautoparts.com to see pics of the kit/part u just simpley click online shopping and enter ur cars info yr,eng etc and do a search for brake master cyldr. How easy is that.

its leaking out the rear of the cylinder

youre alot better off getting another cylinder over trying ot put a seal kit in it

unlike in the olden days when ppl did rebuild theyre own

get a good used one from a donor car,

or a reman one from the store

good luck
