Anybody know if there is a RWD tranny or bellhousing that will bolt up to a 1988 2.0L Turbo engine? Have a project in mind.

You may try the 2.2 S10 transmission but I doubt it will work, don't think it has been tried.

You can also source a european getrag F28 which is an AWD trans which is also capable of FWD only conversions. People remove the rear wheels because the transfer case built into the back is weak. You would need to open up the transmission, weld some gears together to remove the front wheels from the picture and then purchase the upgraded case, it costs a lot too.

Your best bet is going with a standard GM RWD trans and an adapter plate. Autos are way easier than manuals.

Is the 2.0L an isuzu based engine? If so, a pup or very early S10 might work

Isuzu Troopers around 2k or 2k1 had a 2.2l DOHC cousin of the 2.0

Look for Vauxhall, Opel cars in Europe, South America, Oz, Africa with the 1.8 or 2.0 engine and rear drive. The Sunbird engine is a derivative of that Euro powerplant.

Maybe the block is the same as the older 1.9L? That is what is in the Manta.
