I heard the 5 speed off the 3.1 is compatible on a 3rd gen 95-97 2.2l ohv
what else would i need from a second gen to pull off the swap
Um.....I've been known to be wrong before, but I'm pretty sure that won't work, or even know why you would want to. I do know that the 5-speeds in the 2.4's wont work on the 2.2's, so the older style 3.1 tranny most likely won't either.
This won't work either, but you'd be better off using a 5-speed tranny off of a 4-cylinder 2nd gen. They have better synchros than the 3rd gens, and shift a lot cleaner, although the clutch is less grabby, and kinda lax.
