Hey Everyone,
A while back I posted a problem with my Tein SS setup having a problem where the spring was sitting way to close to the inner tire wall, and to my surprise a lot of people where having the same problem on this form, well after spending time with my local cavy speed shop guy and my new best friend, the alignment guy, lol. Today I think I have solved the problem and put a healthy gap between the coil over setup and the tire. Basically we slotted the bottom bolt hole out a bit and slide the suspension unit over and re-adjusted the camber and now I have a good gap now. If anyone would like to know more in detail how I did this please let me know and I will provide a more in detail description and also provide pictures of the new gap if you would like. I had my alignment done today and the car rides perfect. And the gap is also perfect. Just to let everyone, I have a 3mm spacer with the factory wheels and tires and when I went in to have my breaks changed I notice a scuff mark on my spring so the tire did hit the spring, and Tein said to me there is no way it will hit…..So much for all their testing, even with the spacer it hit…. I hope this helps out a few of you guys with the same problem. And if you’re in the Toronto area and I can point you to the rights guys to get this done.
Thank you
Frank....
Just scrappin' by......
hey im glad you got it fixed, but from what I rember from your last thread
you were running aftermarket rims, with the wrong offset and what was your problem.
The poeple I know with J TEIN SS, on stock rims do not have that problem at all.
Eitherway im glad you got it fixed, as taht would be really really really annoying.
NO, must have been someone else your thinkin' of, I'm running everything stock and the prblem is the whole coilover until is sitting way to close to the inside of the rim and tire, i'm talking like a credit card space, it's really close
