i'm dropped all the way in the back. and about 1" of threads left in the front. pretty level appearance. ride of bad streets are ruff. i need to adjust my dampening. i wouldn't get them just for daily driving. not worth it if you aren't using them for their potential.

i believe i have 3-4 threads left all around. car has a slight rake to it.
ride isn't too bad. keep in mind though that I went from goldline/koni yellows to teins.... I haven't ridden in a stock suspension cavalier for a few years.
regardless, i guarantee these will be a bit harsher ride than stock but still are very livable.
cool. how eazy are they to play with once on?

s s wrote:cool. how easy are they to play with once on?
as in raise and lower? adjust the dampening? easy for both.
drive? even easier.

Yah, more specifically raising and lowering, it can be done once on?...its easy to see/measure? get at,? do you need to jack the car?

most if it not all coilovers you would need to jack the car up to get the tires off to get to the coilover. for the teins ss, you would need to jack the car up to take the tire off. there is a set of 2 wrenches that come w/ the kit that are used to tighten the nuts.

keep in mind too after you adjust your ride height, you'll need to have an alignment done.
if you are looking to raise and lower the car often, i'd probably go with air over tein's.
Airride doesnt handle like the teins do, but it is nice to raise the car with a push of a button.
Get your car corner balanced, it won't sit as low as you like, but it will handel a lot better.
I miss my Sunfire, I want it back!

MMMM, HIDs

You will be missed.

this is true. it's tough to do w/ all of our weight in the front end.
example. sorry to thread jack. we didn't mess w/ mine cuz i was so close and it wasn't goin to make that much of a difference
me out of the car
me in the car

i still need to have mine done... hopefully before the autox season starts next year.
can you adjust dampening without jacking?
-speed is time travel-
oh and is it suggested to drive around a bit b4 gettin an alignment?
-speed is time travel-
these are very basic question. im sure if you search about the tein ss you would fine your answer
bascially yes you can adjust without having to jack your car up. they have knobs at the top of the mounts that allow you to adjust the damping. now if you get the edfc kit, you can adjust it from inside the car
as far as alignment, put it on, wait a week, then go get it aligned
s s wrote:can you adjust dampening without jacking?
you do not deserve the tein ss if you are askin this question.

S1lver be nice.. Some people get things backwards and ask stupid questions.
adjust the height not really. damping you can adjst on the fly with the edfc.
My d-specs i have to get out and adjsut. but the car doesn't need to come off the ground unless your changeing parts or adjusting coils.

the tein ss doesnt come with edfc, you would have to order the edfc for it. if you just buy the tein ss, you can still adjust the damping. you just have to pop your hood and trunk and adjust the knobs at the top of the strut.
thnks guys; and yes i have read as much as i can find but its all pretty vague. I figure hands on experience is the best source and yes i'm green to all this.
If struts can be adjusted (without edfc) just by stepin out, bending down and reaching above the spring then great but not great if something is in the way.

you dont have to reach above anything. you pop your hood and its right there at the top of the strut mount. same thing for the rear. hell if you wanted to, you wouldnt have to get out your car for the rear, just fold the back seat down and reach behind the carpet.
Um, I think he is asking about height adjustment. You do have to jack the car up to adjust the ride height, but you don't to adjust the damping.
Silver: Wow, your weights are damn close, is that how it came out of the box, or did you drop it down?

No, he got it right. Thanks though, and thanks AWD, thats what I was hoping and needing to hear, much appreciated.
Once I get the height right I don't want to mess around with it....much...I hope.
-speed is time travel-
i understand but his question was about adjusting damping. whatever though as long as you got the answer you need.

he was talkin about dampenin as i quoted his message. anyways.
yes there. i was very surprised. no that is not how they came out of the box. i lowered my rear all the way down except maybe 1 or 2 threads showing. the fronts i kept about the same just made sure they were both adjusted the same. i think one or 2 of them were off just a tiny bit when i first put them on almost a year ago. woot. their b-day is comin up.
