Well my OEM front and rear mounts came in today. I pieced everything together for a mock up and there are a few things that I am not to sure about. This is really the first time I'm putting together a suspension but it seems pretty self-explanatory.
Coilovers:
OEM mounts, front and rear:
And these two aluminum pieces. I don't know where they go:
This is my attempt at the front mock-up:
There is alot of space inbetween the spring seat and the mount. What gives?
Now I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on another thread that there needs to be an isolator housing inbetween the spring and the mount. Although he had D-Specs and Pro kit. Where does it need to be placed?
This is the rear mock-up:
The rears look like they fit pretty well except when I take them off the spring and piece them together like this:
There seems to be some space in there. They don't fit flush like this but it fits snug on the coil-over.
Any help with this would be great. Any pointers would be great as well.
You need the lower part of the stock front mounts for the front. You take it apart and it goes over the strut and spring, then the aluminum pieces (smaller side up), then the OEM mount, then the nut.
For the rears, I'm unsure also, cause I've never installed OEM coilover rears...they were already assembled when I got mine.

Wait dont you use the lower stock mount only if you use the stock mounts? Aren't these solid mounts? Do you have a pic? I have the same mounts with BG coilovers and i didnt use any part of the stock mounts.
For the fronts, your coilover 's are supposed to have top hats with rotational bearings in them, like a torington bearing, that is what the sleeve rides on. For the rear you will need to put a couple washers under the shaft to pull the mount up, alot just jack up the spring. The fronts are missing the adapter though. They should look like this.

all of these threads would be solved by creating some nice instructions for installation.
I had OEM solid mounts since last year and went through a lot of back and forth PM, IM and phone tag before i got it working. Clear instructions are a very important part of the product IMO. Even if its just a detailed how to on the org with good pics.
I did do a write up for a CO and NON CO application. The problem is there are so many different options out there.
For the top hats, tommy shoot me a PM or e-mail. They are $50 and I can probably get a set out asap for you. They are under the Nissan part on the site. I will be doing some work on the site tonight and will add them as an option.

Probably a good idea. I know there are many different options for these mounts but all of them are made to order from what you had told me. So why not just print up some instructions while you are making the set? That would makes things much easier for us I think. Just a suggestion though.
No, not yet. Mark said I need to get his top hats for the front mounts, just haven't had the money to order some and get them installed. School is a pain right now. It's over in 2 weeks so by mid-december I should have everything installed.
