I believe (from what I saw in the first post pictures) you have one of the 5 holes in line with one of the original 4 if you can follow that.. then the other 4 new holes miss the old 4, one is very close to overlapping but the others have a fair distance between them I think. what CNC program are you using? I wish I had access to a CNC mill big enough for that but sadly not. I will be using vertical mill by measurments..

I'll be using Esprit, yeah I know, complete over kill for something that's not for a production run. But its what we have at school that I know how to use. I modeled just the hat in SW. I'll have to make just a bit of a notch in one of the holes. The bitch then will be aligning it in the machine right. I was going to bolt it to the table through the current holes and probe the part based off the inside bore to make sure the holes are centered on the hub, I might probe off the outside of the hat though. I still haven't decided what is more important to be centered about, I think I'm going to go with the hub bore though. The pain is going to be making sure I align the one hole that is getting notched correctly. Shouldn't be too hard.

Ah, my old highschool has a small CNC we run off AutoCAD but we were limited to small pieces of steel and plexi.. But they have a near new vertical mill so I figure i can get the holes pretty precise, enough to get the job done anyway. Thinking I might use my old brembo front rotors as a template and just have them flipped over hat to hat and centered on each other... At least then it would be matched to another 5x100, and it'd be a more precise cut than just a drill press..

Honestly if I didnt have cnc acess I would just take the stock drums/any rotors, clamp them to the new rotor with the center bores lined up and drill em with a drill press. Using a vertical as a glorified drill press is a pain in the ass.

I would use my drill press but its not accurate for shiz and all my bits are junk.. i'd rather use their mill and have the holes close as possible and use a good set of bits, also my old shop teacher would probably insist on making it perfect, so little to no work for me... i'd probably just have to change the oil in his truck or something.

I wouldnt worry too much about accuracy the wheel studs are 25mm and the stock holes in the rotor are 13.2mm. They center on the hub, the holes in the rotor are really just there to let the lugs pass through the rotor.

So I have to replace my drums before next inspection.

Honestly I have never been a fan of drums and if I can convert to disk without it being a hardcore machining project then I would certainly be interested.

So what Jeffe is making here will allow us a way to do this? If so I am interested.

Yes, the only thing you really have to modify is the saturn caliper as they are 4x100 and we need 5x100. All you have to do is drill new holes.

My intent for the re drilling process is to use an old hub assembly as a jig. Just remove the studs and put the rotor that needs drilling on so its held in place with the centering hub. Clamp it down and go thru the stud holes with the drill press

Issue with that works be how large the holes are are for the lugs, most I've seen are about 15mm.

If you look at a stock or aftermarket rotor the holes aren't exactly snug, which is fine since the rotor centers off the hub. The holes could be 20mm and it would make no difference. Besides Im betting I could get within ~.004 of center on my drill press with a 1/4" bit

last quote i saw for cobalt rotors redrilled for lugz was 120...so i would assume somewhere in that range....and that was for front rotors...the rears would be cheaper iwould think

It doesn't look like I was added to the list. Ideally what is better to go with 1/2 or 3/4? At work and really don't have time to go through 15 pages to find out whats the difference?

The 1/2 is wider, pushes the tires out more. The 3/8 doesn't push the tires out as much but may be better for handling because of the narrower rear track.

Thanks that pretty much sums it up. I would guess that the 3/8 would keep the look stock while the 1/2 would put the tire out more for a better stance?

Please add me to the list with either/or adapter because I just want to get onto the list and I haven't been added yet.

Ideally guys waht adapter would be best with the 96-99 Z24 rims on my 04 sedan with the Tein S springs installed?

Also can we run the stainless steel brake lines from this Saturn if they offer it?

The wider the rear, the more under-steer you will have, in most cases.

For example, the new Camaro handles a lot more neutral after a few companies matched the front track to the rear track. It is something like 1.5" narrower in the front on the new Camaros.
