This is cool. I've always liked the external park brake over the internal setup. I know there are ways to get rotors with the specs needed for this without redrilling.

I won't even compare this to the Neon swap. Two totally different animals. Both have plusses and minuses, and it's nice to see other options.

What so hard about drilling rotors? @!#$ anyone with a shop and a drill press will do it for you for little money. I mean they're like 20 dollar rotors even if you do it with a hand drill and @!#$ one up its no big loss.

We should make a list of sources with links for new calipers, and rotor options.

Wow this blew up over the weekend.

Well here we go.

This is the parts list of what you'll need.
93-02 Saturn SL / SC / SW
Rear rotors
Rear Caliper brackets
Rear Calipers
Rubber line to Caliper.
And of course a set of Club Jeffie Mounting Brackets.

As for "complete kits" I'll see what I can do about that. I honestly don't feel comfortable offering junkyard parts, so IF I do "complete kits" they will be with New or Reman parts. I'll look into the costs and see what I can do and try to keep it as affordable as possible for everyone.

Now for the brackets themselves. I am aiming at under $100 for the 1/2" size and less for the 3/8". Once we get closer to production I'll get a set in stone price for everyone.

Stay tuned

maybe some of us simply dont like having "chopped up " parts on our car???? not dissing the bracket..ill probably be getting one..but if i do i wont be drilling out rotors.

for those interested in looking for other options...this company offers blank rotors, or will drill from blanks if you want http://www.r1concepts.com/

in other words, you can order the rear rotors for the car you want and they will simply drill them to 5x100 .. no extra holes. this could be something that could be offered in the kit if you would like to call them
and see what they could do for you.....just throwing it out there.

If they could actually do a Group discount on "Blank Rotors" I would be in for it i like the idea of this kit but hate redrilling a 4 lug rotor to make it work
Re: Rear Disc Brakes, Not another thread!!!!!! Club Jeffie FEELER!!!!
Monday, June 13, 2011 9:12 PM
same here...we can get the proper rotor from them already drilled to fit our cars...can even get them slotted or drilled. everyone ive seen do it for the cobalts have gotten them pretty cheap... i just think it would be nice if it could be a complete kit

Re: Rear Disc Brakes, Not another thread!!!!!! Club Jeffie FEELER!!!!
Monday, June 13, 2011 9:15 PM
I dont really see the point you'll never see where you drill and the normal rotors are stupid cheap. Its not like getting those cross drilled or slotted is going to have any noticeable performance gain.

Totally agree James. If I didn't already do the neon rears I'd be game. Glad to see other options out there excellent work.

I'm very interested in the cost difference between the redrilled s rotors vs a custom drilled set. It just make sense to get them if they are reasonably priced. Thanks for doing the leg work Cav93, let us know the numbers

Curious question.

What's the benefit's of 3/8" bracket or 1/2" bracket? Better wheel offset with the 1/2"?
