Rear Brake Size?

Hey guys,

So our 1999 Z24 needs rear brakes.

Shoes and Drums.

Everywhere I call tell me the 1999 Z24 came in 3 different size options? They told me to take it all apart and bring in the parts for them to match. I could do this, but it's my dd and don't want to run into the issue of having it all apart to find out parts need to be ordered.

Is this true?

If not, what size drums and shoes do I need for a 99 Z?

Thanks in advance.

its the smaller size 7 7/8. 2002 to 2005 8 7/8. I had to do the rear brake shoes and drums on my car as well.

Also, This.

You should be able to at least see the number on the drum through the openings in your rim, I know I could.. My 99's were like 102's or something...

3 differant size options for a 99? I would find a differant parts store.
Also like stated, there is 2 differant sizes. you would have the smaller size.

Rich- I thought the bigger size was 03-05 (newer body style) and 02 and down was the smaller? Doesnt matter in this case because he has a 99 but I didn't think 02s had bigger drums. Correct me if I am wrong.

If there is not a differant parts store, sometimes people can buy all the differant sizes and return what they dont use. a lot of older trucks/vans had this problem with brake sizing and u joint sizing, etc....
