saturn or neon calipers?

Was wondering what wpuld be easier? Neon caliper or saturn S series for a brake convertion for the rear J body?

Stainless steel lines? Who needs them? Just don't brake O.O

I went with the saturn conversion because it's 99% bolt on, I prefer the handbrake setup vs the neon and I needed to be able to fit my 15in winter tires (They will fit with the neon conversion I'm comparing to all other conversions). You will need to purchase a Club Teh Jeffie bracket for the saturn swap and you need to machine some parts for the neon setup.

There's pros and cons to each conversion so you should read these and decide for yourself.

Were would I get the brakets at for the saturn?

It was pretty much the ebrake setup and how friggen cheap it was to do that sold me. And the fact that you dont have to hack up ghetto the neon bracket to do the neon one.

Nope. I know how to make the saturn brackets, and how to make them thinner and lighter than anyone else without them breaking.

theres no ghetto hacking of neon brackets, they have to be done by a machine shop or someone with a mill. From my point of view the neon swap still seems cheaper. Just depends on how much modding the brackets costs you.

How much would the brakets be leafy? Nd ya I just talked to my buddies at a shop going tomorrow to talk to someone they no who works there to see if he can do it spencer.

I'm quite a cock tease. I cant make them, nor do I have time. I got the idea from jeffie and them for the swap brackets but re-did all their work for the dimentions, then made them as light an thin as I was able to get with the computer giving me a decent factor of safety from failure and acceptable deflections. If you want to use them to space out the rear tires for looks get the jeffie ones for sure, I wanted to keep mine as thin as possible for how I have the car setup to turn. If jeffie does another run buy from him. If not, if you could find a machine shop to make them for you I could give you my model of it. I just dont have the time now because of all the parts I have to machine for the racecar.

just have someone copy slowzee's design in titanium. plenty of strength and lightweight there.

personally, i have both setups. to me the saturn seems much easier. i spent less than $40 for my entire stock saturn setup from a junk yard, the cost of the plates from teh effje and will spend another $300-350 im sure on the rotors, pads, and powdercoating of everything.

i got in on the joshua dearman gp for the neon setup years ago got basically everything needed including the machined brackets for like $225 iirc. then i spent another $250 on rotors and pads, still need to get everything powdercoated though.

so all in all id say the saturn setup is cheapest, easiest to use/install and i prefer it but im still going to use my neon setup on one of my cars just because id like to see which setup is best actually using them.

Nvm lol ill probably go with the neon setup then cause I have ppl who would probably do it as a side job to make 200 personally nd not tell their shop lol.

They're both over the counter, except that the adapter bracket for the saturns is just a chunk of steel bar stock rather than a chunk of steel casting off a neon. Oh and you have to drill 4.5 holes in the rotor every time you do rotors.

I was referring to the rotors.... Which arent over the counter if you have to drill them.

Thats like saying that Gary Franks rear bumper is factory because its made of factory parts.

200 to machine the brackets is out there my guy charges me 75 to get both neon brackets machined for out hubs and thats still cheaper then just the saturn brackets,

saturn swap hands down.

redrilling rotors is cake. just use an old wheel bearing and knock all but one of the studs out. Then use that to mark your holes and rill them. Done and done. Mega easy with a drill press.

Mark at OEM makes a nice template for drilling the rotors.
