i wanted to use a vented rotor like the ft. rotors so i said what is keeping us from doing so what you need to do is turn down the outer dimension on the stub axle flange then the other part of the set up the caliper i found that a ford disc brake setup fit the bill so i made some brakets made some new parking cables and rehosed the brake lines this setup seems to be very workable for a lower budget flexible with avalible parts rotors and pad selection and looks great i dont remember seeing any other set up that used ft. rotors to the rear and ford calipers if i missed that let me know i wil be interrested in coparing setups

vented rear rotors are kinda pointless. the front brakes are designed to do most of the work, i don't remember what the split is but it is way greater front to rear. Go ahead and do a design, but if you don't have a solution better/easier to do than the saturn rear disc swap, either with jeffie's brackets, or the ones mr quick is putting out soon, then it will be pointless. currently to do jeffie brakes everything is bolt on, no fancy lines, just add the saturn line to the existing line and hook it up, only downfall with jeffie brakes is that you have to re drill saturn 4 bolt rotors to 5 bolt. the mr quick method is a setup similar to jeffies, but changing how the caliper/bracket mounts to allow use of neon srt rotors (I think?). mr quick is still in prototype stage though.

so there are (or will be) 4 ways to do rear discs, the original concept, dodge neon rear discs, the jeffie saturn setup, the soon coming mr quick saturn setup, and if you want to go the extra mile, there is the N-Body Independent rear suspension swap, then you get IRS, rear disc brakes & the different wheel bolt pattern.

if you can make yours work better than any of the above, great.. but remember if you bring this up you gotta do the leg work.. and if you don't wanna continue your quest.. jump on the bandwagon with mr quick

the split is about 70/30 F/R. the rears on these cars would never get hot enough to need to be vented. and having the same size rotors on the rear as the front looks a little silly.

jordan, you forgot the way that used fiero rotors and g/p calipers, cobalt ss/ G6 rears (rotors and calipers ), and there was also a way to use toyota rotor( someone in canada)

I was thinking more way of the direct swaps, and what has been done most recently. And well documented. Never really seeb big threads other than saturn/neon/IRS and of course the big aftermarkets like willwood

neat! what combination of parts is that and how much do you want for a pair of brackets?

you use the same rotors as you use on the ft, of the car. then use calipers off of a mustang gt brake hoses are custom but not expensive parking brake cables are also custom brackets are also custom hubs need to be turned down I'm working on a machine shop to purchase machined and custom parts from will let you know down the road how to locate parts let it be known I would not recommend just bolting the brackets on I would weld the brackets top and bottom you take undue risk to just bolt axle shear is much to great

It looks like a decent setup, i still think that vented rears are unnessecary overkill. One might ask what testing you have done on these, i just ordered new saturn brackets for my dd. Glad you got it done though

The calipers you are using are the same ones SSBC uses for their rear kits. I am looking at using a 88 Fiero rotor with the SSBC caliper. I will just have to make a new bracket ( or shorten my current one )
