I don't know a lot about lowering a car cause i've never done it before, if i get lowering struts for my car [04 cav] does that mean they come lowered or that they are made to handle being lowered? and if they are made to stand lowering then i'd get lowering springs?

Yes. And don't get the springs without the struts.

it means that yes they are valved to handle the drop but unless its got a pre load adjustment like an std coilover its gonna be just as "tall" as a stock strut. thats just how they are designed.

I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.
