yeah, my car is definitely not a show car i go for all performance for the lowest price, i am probably one of the only eoctec owners with a full cold air intake that isn't AEM.

Looks great for a first try.I found a strut bar on a Cady at the wreckers I have to do some mods to make it fit but I ,m with you why spend more than you have to it,s the final results that count. I like your cai did you make it?

yeah i combined a 2.4 intake with some piping that i got from an 2002 lancer cai. i had to cut some of the pipes from the lancer intake to get a good fitment.

hey man looks good, i made one a while back just never post on here much anymore. here is a old pic of the night i finished. it doesnt look like that much any more, i cleaned up my welds and smoothed and rounded the mounting plates, also sanded the whole thing down and its gonna get powdercoated black. I dont have any pics of it installed cuz ive only had a chance to test fit it. only cost me bout $7 total cuz i got the metal for the mounts free from the school and all i used was a plasma cutter, mig welder, and drill press. i had to bend it for the intake and ram air hood so thats why its not jsut a striaght bar and to bend i just used a torch and my hands(with gloves of course) to pull on it in a vise to get it to where i needed. i also agree why pay so much but some people dont have the time or equipment to make these things so they suffer by paying high prices

well i made mine today and it turned out great after spending long hours making heavy duty out of some very thick steel like 1/8" plate and half inch steel tubing. it has 1 main bar with shorter pipes as braces at the ends and a tube connecting those and 1 connecting that pipe to the main pipe. nice solid bar. and the car feels more connected to the road. very precise steering now i have to paint it

wow that looks nice! i did not spend that much time grinding my welds. but it is done and drying i put mine between 2 jack stands and i can stand on it it is strong and not too heavy. i wish i could attach it to the firewall but it is against the STS rules

nova go to imagehosting.us, then just upload your pic, then it will give you a link to the pic and just post it into a post and you have a pic.

great job

but

still looks like conduit, which would also explain why paint won't stick well. and no, conduit isn't very strong.
I hope i'm wrong man...

well yes they do. it can only attach at 2 points and those points being the strut towers. i think the sts/ricer class is a bit to limited my self but it is the only class that i have a chance in lol if i get some money i might get some victor racers and try dsp out but i think after i get the blower i will be in SM
