not normal at all! slap some good pads on it. i had a 2002 cav that went threw the first set of brakes at 15k and that is with a drive to work of 74 miles 148 round trip at the time that was quick to me. but then i did set the cruise at (well lets say well over the speed limit) and have to slow down all the time. that is hard on the brakes i think

see ya!

you are under the stage of changing your pads and rotors.

i wasn't thinking about changing them yet, maybe down the road. i stop fine most the time. i think that it is just hot brake dust.

what is the best way to go with new pads and rotors.

so r u telling me that nobody has every had this problem before. i know that the discs that are in race cars some times glow from racing. the first time this happened my car was like a month old. i was doing about a 100 then hit the brake hard. cause i had to turn. this is the first time i had alloy wheels. i have to other brake problems at normal speeds and braking, no noise, no chatter, run ou, it seems fine. so i don't know.

You've probably worn the pads down to the indicators or something. You might want to pull them off and take a look. I push my brakes VERY hard and I've never seen that.

It has happined to me. I HAD NO BRAKE PADS LEFT! It ate the rotors up. I had to get new rotors and pads instead of just pads.

Oh and your car is not a race car so dont worry about what those rotors look like.
Worry about what yours look like.

I am all that is man

Yes this happened to me one time. I had no brake pads left either... Also check to see if there anything stuck in your calipers.

OH and race car rotors glow because they are hot. They don't normally spark.

I saw a C-130 that had sparking brakes... The sparks blew out the tire. Lucky the airplane had 5 others to ride on.

Aircraft tires are better than Cavalier tires. Check your brakes.

I had it happen to me from braking very hard, i actually only had the pads 2 weeks, I was messing around driving too fast and broke hard from 175km/hour and just stopped in time ate right through the pads and then it was caliper vs.rotors and my buddy said there were sparks everywhere. Crazy experience and the last time I ever did something like that on public roads.

Happened to me the other night. BUT i didnt see them....friends behind me saw them. I was doing around 100 (to see if new hood was shake/vibrate) and then i saw headlights (on 2 lane highway at 2am no cars in front of me) and i slowed down (could be cop) and there they were....

One time it happened but my caliper locked up and i just floored it to make it unlock...didnt really work though
