hey all, a couple small problems here...wondering if anyone has any idea whats up with it....( car is a 1995 cavi ...standard)

first problem....

so latley ive been having a small braking problem....when i come to a stop at a light or sign or whatever or even i notice it on the highway....ill be in neutral, or in gear with the clutch in, coast into the light say...anyways when im slowing down gradually it feels like the car is gonna stall or my abs is on or something...like it starts jerking a little bit...either way ill go to the dalership to get it checked but if its something minor maybe i can do something....if its not minor...maybe you could gimmie an idea of how much it would cost....

second problem....

i wake up in the morning or get off work or whatever....after leaving the car for a bit....jump in start up...slide into gear,....the moment a turn the wheel just a little its like a thump noise up front from my wheel well.... like you hit a hole noise but you really didnt...and its only the first time you do it....you could drive for 5 hours and it wont do it again untill you let the car sit and cool down.....

anyways...some help here would be great...

id like to have an idea whats up so if i do go in to see whats up...they dont rape me and tell me my engines dead...or transmission is shot....or anything...and so i can know what im gonna have to spend to fix it so i can cry alone...not infront of the mechanics.....

1) check the engine throttle body and idle

2) could be the strut mounts

3) your car is gonna blow up. jk

1.sounds like a cracked pressure plate to me not letting the rest of the tranny do its job. its just a guess do us both a favor and ask it over in the transmission forum. and use complete sentences over there, they need clear info in order to help you out.

2.can you have someone turn the wheel for you so you can have the hood up and listening for it. it will help you have more info. I'm with Viper on this one it does sound like a strut mount. $60US for the part. its not hard to replace but since you have to have it realigned you may as well take it to some one. an alignment should be included with the installation of the mount. and make sure they give you the print out of what your alignment is.

3.and I agree with Viper again, your car is gonna blow up...j/k

Does it do it when the car is sitting still and just idling? Or would it do it if the car was idling and you press on the brake or rolling down the windows(if their electric)? Just wondering because I've seen cars idle change from electrical loads on the car changing.
