95-02 rear strut bar on 03+
Sunday, February 20, 2005 8:34 PM
Has anyone used a 95-02 cavalier rear strut bar on a 03+ or know if it will fit correctly? Ive heard that the front bar wont but I havent heard or seen anything on the rear bar.

Also a follow up question has anyone tried the front bar as well? Im aware of the relocation of the cruise control and etc, but are the clearances hood wise the same and the strut mounts themselves the same on a 95-02 the same as a 03+. Thanks

Strut tower positions are the same for all 3rd gens so they'll definitely fit. You just may have to get creative with relocating things like the cruise module. They can be easily moved.

I realize this is an old thread, so I was wondering if since you posted you've found out for sure if it works. I'm mostly interested in knowing about the rear. Thanks!

All same... You can even put the vert strut bar into 5th gen grand ams.. not sure about other years though...

the only 3rd gen jbody a rear strut bar (without being custom made) would not fit, are all 95-00 convertibles. reason being the bar would shatter the rear window once down, and also wouldnt allow the top to fold completely.
