How do you know when your strut mounts are bad?
Saturday, February 26, 2005 1:33 PM
I've got some clunking in the front end of my car. Mainly on the pass. side. It sounds high up in the engine compartment. Usually clunks going over speed bumps or over rougher roads. Does this sound like a bad mount? Is there any way I can physically check it without removing the strut from the car? And since I have the 2000+ mounts, can I use the 95-99 mounts without raising the front of the car any, or at all?

I have a 2003 Cav with KYB AGX's and Eibach springs. The dealer won't touch it, so it's up to me to find and fix whatever it is.

Am I headed in the right direction? Mounts, or something else?

I may not know much about cars, but I know two things....
1) Breaking things is expensive, and
2) Horsepower isn't cheap.
