KYB, Progressive, 18's
Tuesday, March 01, 2005 9:39 PM
I did my research but couldnt find anyone with this combo. Anyways. Do you all think i will be alright rolling with the Progressive 1.5 inch spring and the KYB GR-2 shocks. I got a good deal on both and couldnt pass it up and i didnt wnat to ride on the stock struts. My buddy had the progressive springs on his car for a while and they didnt even blow his stock suspension. What about rolling this combo with 18' wheels the are 7.5 inches wide.

There's no way that Sportlines were ok on GR2's whether they're blown or not. They just don't have the damping capacity for the Sportlines. You probably just don't know what it's supposed to feel like.

KYB Gr2 are really stock replacements. You want to get KYB AGX. Some people have had success others have not. Your struts may last a week, a month, a year you never know. KYB is not going to keep replacing them.

dem are some big wheels...I am not sure you can fit 18 foot wheels on a cav.

But I agree, stay away from being lowered on Gr2's

Lets just say i was going to do the same setup that you want to do and here it what i think...... I went back to the store where i bought them from today and payed 220 more and bought the AGX. I have been hearing not so hawt stuff about the GR-2's and i have been having terrible wobble while accelerating in my front end.

i'm riding on stock 14's...but i went to 195/60/14's, since the car already looks like a pickup truck for a sunfire model lol.... i have 4.5" of air gap between the top of the tire and the fender... looks gross...
