modded tail lights? where? other than the crappy looking chrome ones on ebay lol...thats all i've seen other than the one guy who had a black sunfire and he made his clear tails...i'd like to find a company that can make altezza style lights for the sunfire...

But yeah, Dennis, I'm not going to tell you again to not cut the springs as it looks like you picked up on that one already. My best advise is just start doing some good performance mods, and you'll forget all about how it looks. With good suspension setups our cars can outhandle most in autocrossing... so jump on what you're given you know?
194 on tirerack.com and 190 on discout tires

Well it's starting to return to normal. I can totally understand your issue with the wheel gap though, but that should be fixed by proper sized tires and a drop.

I can even live with the oversized exhaust tips and pretend you've actually done a full exhaust upgrade.

I've gotta ask though... what's the bumper sticker say??

last time i went to vermont, they were having a contest where if u put a bumper sticker on your car, u could throw a velcro ball at a numbered wall and win prizes..so i put it on, it says CHAMP 101.3 or something like that..i won tickets to see bowling for soup, american hi-fi, mc lars and riddlin kids that were playing in burlington, but being from SC and just visiting VT, i had them change the tickets to a later date when they were playing in Charleston, SC about 20 mins from where i live.....the sticker also covers up where the previous owner had a support the troops sticker there and when i took that off, it took some of the paint off..while i'm writing a book, i might as well ask, where can i get some grommets to plug the 10 holes from that spoiler that are left in my deck lid until i find another one, and what are they called?

Already a big improvement.

You wouldn't use gromets for that. Gromets have holes in them.

I think your best bet might be to pick up some red vinyl from a sign shop or something and use that as a temporary cover.

thanks NPS...okay while were discussing my stupidity, i have one last stupid question to ask..what is the difference between the 1999 sunfire gauge cluster and the 2000+ cluster other than looks? my cluster is digital, with the odometer all the way on the right side, and it has the shaft sticking out on the left side that actually pushes, but doesnt do anything.. i'll show u in the pic... is it possible to put a 2000+ cluster in a 99?

I believe the gauges are entirely different for 2000 and have a different plug on the back. I don't think they're compatable if you're considering doing a swap.

The button should be for switching between the odometer and the trip meter. Holding it in should reset the trip meter to zero.

That ought to be the trip reset -- on my 96 sunfire analog gauge, it'll reset the trip. Maybe for the digital you have to push and hold it or something? Or maybe it doesn't do anything?

you have already improved and to warn you now...i can be harsh but all these suggestions will improve your car greatly

sorry for the flame but it is for your own good

- while your at the junk yard pick up some new tail lights along with that trunk lid
- get rid of that huge oversized exhaust that sticks too far out from the bumper
- get some tires bigger than 13-14 inch ( will help with your 4x4 problem) ( these also can be grabbed off of a car at the junkyard...you dont need to spend alot of money on rims if you can get a cheap ass set from a junkyard that look way better than steelies that are micromachine)
- paint your whole car the same color / fix the peeling clear coat and paint ( dont know if its just the pictures or what but the rear quarter panel looks a different color than the door)

i know you dont have money and i understand alot of us dont have the money...but saving for the big stuff pays off more than buying alot of small stuff ( ie the muffler and tip instead of a full exhaust) which will be replaced in the future anyways.... alot of people who dont have money figure... well hey i dont have the money for this nice urethane body kit...so im gonna buy some R active floor mats instead..... save your money...do your suspension right....and mod your car right....and you will be alot happier with the end result

dude, dont listen to these amatuers, cut one coil off the springs and use the one coil as your suspension and take the rest of the springs and glue them on top of your wing, then grab those kids who threw the rocks and make them fight to the death, then have the winner eat the losers dead body, that outta take care of all you problems. I am so not even kidding.....

ok im kidding......

Just STFU about the spoiler already......lol

Hey dennis, here's a thought for your taillights...instead of paying the 260+ for stock lamps, go to http://rksport.com/product/p_06011651/view_detail ...they have the black "retro" lamps for 185...they dont look bad, def. better than the chrome ones, and they will put a lil more change in your pocket for the springs...plus its one of those little upgrades that people will notice quick... www.rksport.com also has a couple of different sets of lowering springs, etc...you really just have to shop around...try different sites like www.tirerack.com or www.nopionline.com ...just a reccomendation...hope everthing works out for ya

Find a Sunfire GT body kit and impersonate WW...

Seriously, if your low on money.... Goto a junk yard and find some 16" Sunbird wheels or so... They would look better than the steelies...
