Loud grinding noise at low speed turns!

I know the wheel bearings are notoriously bad in these cars, just wondering if it is anything else. It's only noticeable at takeoff and and parking lot speeds.

Fill out your registry so we have some idea of what car you've got.

Just filled it out. Pretty much as the name implies though. Bone stock 2002 Z24. Got rid of a full size GMC 4x4, and don't miss it. I'm having a lot of fun with the Z, but am hearing some grinding type noise at low speed in turns, and when I turn the wheel to the left at a stop, I the steering wheel feels like it skips or something. Hard to describe, but since you guys are the experts, ,maybe you've dealt with this problem. I've got an extended warranty, and want to know if I should use it? Thanks

your extended warranty probably will not cover the wheel bearings. most extended warrantys only cover the drivetrain, engine and transmission. my ext. warranty didnt cover the wheel bearings. its a good idea to read over the warranty paperwork given to you to make sure.

Peace Out!!!

This might sound stupid but........check you lug nuts

I had this sort of thing happen once to me .....a grinding sound at take off and cornering at low speed and all that was wrong was a couple loose lug nuts.

might not be the problem but at least try it before some shop tells you there is something wrong when there isn't

Call your warranty provider and find out what they cover on your car.

well my warranty is long expired now but i read over every single detail in the paperwork and did call them about some other things. not every warranty will cover the same things as others and every company is different.

Peace Out!!!
