Are the front fender wells a main support?

I was considering tubing my front wheel wells but I was curious if they were a main support for the unibody. How much stress is put onto the wheel upper wells in the front. Would the Unibody be strong enough without them? Thanks in advance guys!

yes they are pretty much a main support. If you are gona basicly cut the bottom half of the structure off to tub them out, then your gona need to add some strength back in to them to help support the rad support and also the front of the car incase you ever got in to a wreck. Once you cut it out, add a peice of 1.5" square tubing with a 1/8" wall thickness to the inside of the unibody the length of the part you cut out, and then replate the structure on the bottom half with a peice of 16 gauge steel plating to box it back in.
