He knows it is not just you. I have told them on several occasions and so have others. I remember the email that we had going to email him and he would put us on a list when you were working with him on this.
But yah email him cause I don't know why none of this has been corrected yet. Like I stated in one of my other threads. I believe the noise is from the heim joints. Eather they loosen up after a while or they were tapped in wrong.
Well basically he left me with, "tell me what you want me to do", and basically the only thing I could do is send my car in. I think it's the mounts, and from what I understand their "hopper" testing machine doesn't use the mounts for the car, it just attatches to the strut/bag via it's own mounts, which really isn't going to show us any problems. So I'm really at a loss as well. I wish someone that lived close to there that was having the problem could drop their car off with them. I'm about to just take them off, cause I'm sick of the clunking. And even though they've been pretty helpful, they kinda left me at a point where I can't do anything about it, and I can't complain anymore without seeming like a d!ckhead. So someone else please try.

But from what they say it hassent happened on the car they put it on before. They said they took them off that car though, so maybe they could find a person to donate a cavalier around them and try out a set.

where does the thick part of the shock stop?? on mine it hits a metal washer, on yours it looks like it hits the top mount, that's what I think it is. cause the shaft is thin where the threads are then gets bigger. KNow what I'm saying?

My upper mounting plate sits directly on top of the strut shaft. WIth just the threads coming threw. No washer.

BOlt
washer
thick rubber
Strut tower plate
thinner urethane/hard rubber/ something
bearing
bag

WHen I talked to Jim Bigford a while back he said that I may have an older kit.
From his explanation I think he said newer ones do not have the black hard rubber peice that I have on top of my bearing.

Its a 1/4" thick and he said they found it not needed and saves money.
Ahh somewhat. But I dont think its as bad as what youve described.
I mean it seems like your so mad that you want them off the car. Mine have never been that bad. Its nothing I notice unless music it off. and even then its not anoying or all the time.
ARGGGGG I wish I could get some help with it though........................ I don't know what else I can do, when the company asks you what you want them to do about it, it kinda kills all hope.

Well i hate to bring it back. My 'clunking' isn't as bad as others, I can only hear it when going slow with no music. I can also only hear it when turning. Never when I hit bumps or anything. No noise from the rear either. Anyone else have that EXACT same problem? It's not really annoying or anything, i just don't want it to cause any long term damage.

Make sure that your top bolts on the strut are not binding. And that they are not loose. But if they are loose, be carefull tightening them. They do strip. Happend to mine.

i know it has been asked allready, but can someone take there front strut apart and take a pic of each and every component that is on attached to the strut mount?

I know im a new guy and so most of you wont listen to me, but it has to do with the upper mount.... it has too. MY girls car is making the same noise with her cheap coil overs that i machined to fit (@!#$ing stupid ebay crap... worse purchase ever) I know with her setup, if i jack the car up, and grease the upper mount where the bearing is, the top hat, and the very top of the strut shaft... the noise goes away for awhile.

If someone could snap a pic of the parts that are used as the upper bearing assembly between the bag and the upper strut plate that would be very helpful. Then you guys could also see if you all have the same setup, and/or who has something different that works better.

Bags are going on her car soon, and i was hoping to get easystreet setup for the front.. but all this problems of the same noise shes having now makes me nervous. Im building my own setup similar to esb's in the rear.... no sense in spending 600 bucks to get the back done, when i can do it myslef for about 80 bucks.. including shocks.

My rear right side one clunks very slightly... nothing from the front or the other side one... it almost sounds like the strut shaft is hitting something beside it cause it sounds like a small clunk when i drive over a bumpy road... hmm... I don't know if mine clunck like you guys cause I put 2 layers of Brown Bread all over the strut mounts before installing them. I took the mounts and slapped them together before the Brown Bread and they made a very loud metal to metal sound. After brown breading... it was more like a very quiet thump.
