the 2.2 cavalier are higher than the Z24 and not because the Z have a body kit but realy its the fender to wheel gap wich is smaller! maybe .08 lower than a 2.2 but still abit lower!

The FE2 suspension has mildly stiffer springs which are about 1/2 inch lower than the 2.2OHV suspension, that is why.

Where did you read this? So far as I know, all 3rd gens use the exact same springs. What are the part numbers for the two different springs you're talking about?

Wild Weasel is right - if you go to GM all 3rd Gens have the same springs it is just the struts that are different - just valving though.
