Hi,

I have an 03 Cav with cruise control and the computer mounted on a black brace at the top left of the engine bay.

I just got my RKSport strut tower brace and have heard that I'll need to move this unit first.

How difficult is this move? Where did you guys put it?

Any step-by-step info or pics would be greatly appreciated. In fact, I will send a free brushed aluminum gauge bezel from Fire and Ice Motorsports to the person who is the most help to me. I want to get this in over the weekend and I'm willing to bribe!

to remove the ecu, there a nut that holds it to the strut tower and one that holds it to the firewall. you remove those two nuts and then relocate the ecu.

the cruise is held on by 2 nuts as well (one on the top of the upper engine mount and one on the strut tower) you should be able to mount your cruise bracket back over the strut tower brace plate once you get that installed...

when i did my ractive on my 02, here's what i did:
originally, i relocated my ecu


later i just modded the ecu bracket to work with the strut tower plate by cutting it a bit

oh... one thing i forgot... to relocate the ecu, i just bolted the bottom of the bracket to an existing stud on the firewall and then wire tied it to the strut tower brace

Good news! The strut brace that Jason sold me at A Plus Performance has a groove in it for the ecu to fit under. Therefore, I had no problems with install and nothing had to be moved! Thanks anyway for the help - your way will still work for those who need to do it. Bezel is still on hold for you until next week.
