What about the struts that these bad mounts have ruined?? Now we need new struts, cause the nut won't go down that far cause the plate ate away all the threads.

You mean die cutting it?? Tapping is threading the hole and yeah I've done it on another bad one, but didn't turn out really great, cause it changes the diameter of the thread, so it looks all ghetto

You guys are starting to worry me now... I don't even think I want to put the new mounts on. I'm afraid the nuts won't go on again, or I will screw them up when I remove the struts. Hrmm... this sucks...

I think I am going to wait for one of you guys to install them first and give us some input. Mine are working fine so far, except the occaisional clunk... How did you guys tighten those nuts? Did you torque them? Cause everytime I look at mine, they look exactly like they did when I first installed them.

well..... i have the clunkin coming from my rear of my struts and i have called easystreet over and over and over trust me...haha anyways i got all the new stuff to put on to get the clunking out well guess what DIDNT DO ONE CHANGE....now the top washer on the rod...when u look in the trunk u can see that the place where the strut is mounted on the car, the washers yes both sides are hitting the place where u mount the struts and u can see it from inside the trunk. it wouldnt let the car go down the whole way...and yes i did try moving both of the like a 100000 times and nothing so i took a grinder to both of the washer and now i gotta try to keep it from moving so i dont do it again so u know what i did b/c i started to think well both ways it clunks so i took the off again and put all the old stuff back on and im gonna leave it that way b/c both ways it CLUNKS. i had them things off wayyyyy to many times and im done so whatever anyone have any thoughts on this?

Your problem is that you have Cavalier struts on an S-10! We talked about this on the phone. Is there any way you can get me pictures? As far as the people with the nuts coming loose, I sent all of you new lock nuts. A lock nut is only good ONE time. If you take it off, throw it away! Use a new one every time! Other than that, if you are not trusting a lock nut (you should trust it!) use BLUE lock tight. If you use Red lock-tight, you will never get it off without a torch! Remember....I am here way too much! Call if you need anything!
