Neon Brake Q

BTW its going on a 3rd gen

I need the fitting size to use the stock rubber hose of a cavalier to the neon rear caliper. I read the sticky and im not seeing the fitting size. Unless at the very beginning the fittings suggested were the ones needed. I just didn't quite know if that was for stock brake lines.

Thanks

I'm kind of lost on what you want to do here.....

There is a rubber line that goes from the unibody to the axle, and then its hard bent to the wheel cylinder. You want to attach a rubber hose to the end of that to go to the caliper?

Depending on the caliper, you may need an M10 x 1 banjo

What caliper may this be? I got my parts from a 97 neon sport, but I didnt buy the calipers from the yard since the auto parts store would only give me a $15 core for a junk yard $20 part / per side =$40 for both. I spent a high $90 for what I needed - the caliper. Im not too happy about the jacked price I paid.

I used 04 SRT-4 calipers (the only ones I could get my mitts on w/ out waiting)

No real difference than the Neon ones, just the fitting was different.

This may be a silly Q but do I have to use a SS line or can I use say a goodridge line?

its also on pg.13. a note about what was posted above - the fittings you need are not inverted flare, they are bubble flare. also, for the caliper, you don't need to use that type of fitting, you can use the stock banjo bolt with a new 7/16" banjo.

SS lines are the easier way to do this since they are sold everywhere. goodridge is a brand for SS lines, just like earls, and others.
