Tokico D-Spec with pro kit ---- thoughts?
Wednesday, March 02, 2005 8:16 AM
Hey all,

After researching strut options and spring options i'm thinking about the Tokico D-spec with Pro kit springs. has anyone done this combo? Just to let you all know i do drive this car in the winter (not for long i hope) and i race in AutoX events.

your input would be great...

Thanks!

Well I dont think anyone on the site has that combo yet, if you read the Tokico D-Spec Review thread, you'll see two people have posted opinions on them so far. But HybridCav has the sportlines, so take his review, and add a few marks for comfort as well as handling because of the prokits.

you will need a rear bar also. but i think you will out grow the prokit's for autox. i think you will need a stiffer spring. thats why i went with rkcoil's. what class are you running in? look into RK coil-overs or Ground control koni setup. i bet it is about the same price as the D's/prokit setup if not cheaper. i am not telling you what to do but look at all the options.

see ya!

well... i put in my order in for the D-specs and the Prokit. I was going to use the S-tech springs but i didn't feel like waiting... long story.

I look at the pros and cons of both the sportlines and prokit from posts that other J members put up and picked the Prokit.

NOVARACER,

with all my mods i'll be in DSP this year. I won't be running R-comp either. I know i'll be at a dissadvantage without them. But i want to race my car how i drive my car. When i get another car (2-3 years) I'll turn this car into a full out race ready car.

Where do you race? I race in Woodstock, Ontario this is the club WOSCA

Well i just installed vogtland 1.7 drop springs and the D-specs. Ride and handling are way better than stock and the D-specs are very easy to adjust. And the install went smootly, just like replacing a stock strut, except you have a lower torque setting on the top nut becasue the shaft is hollow.

I posted a thread about my drop and just added pics if you want to see.

Should be a good combo and way better than stock.

I have the d specs with sportlines. the car handles very well. i can almost double my cornering speeds. is that $1300CDN for just the struts or for the springs as well? i got my d specs for $850 CDN tax in. and the sportlines for $350 tax in.

Sniper...
$1,300CDN tax and shipping inc. so yeah you got yours for about $100 cheaper but did you pick yours up or were they shipped? I looked into other pricing from other places and i found that one place would be cheaper for one thing and expensive for the other... in the end i wanted both parts to come from the same person. Scott from Custom Car Tuner was able to get me these parts and a good price. Excellent customer service!
