<==20k miles of the hardest miles a car can have put on it...really suprised i haven't floated a valve, blown a diff, shredded syncro's or anything....This is the first car i've ever owned thats handled the abuse so well, I've had my cavvy 2 years, by this time in a DSM I'd already replaced many motors and trannies muahahaha

I have just under 30k on my 03 ls sport, I had one O2 sensor go out and the heater control cables bound up inside the dash so the controls stopped working. Just little stuff, nothing major-all covered under warranty.

I have a 03 cavalier Ls. So far I have 25,xxx miles. Gettin ready to be on my second tranny. It got stolen and they shredded the synchros in 3rd and 5th. Abuddy of mine has an 03 as well and he is on his 4th tranny.
I love the car though. very impressed with it over the older cavy's
04 with 8500 miles, no problems aside from ones related to me being a dumbazz
and that only was 1 - when putting my intake on I faced it TOO far down into my engine bay, and it was sitting almost right beside the block, needless to say it sucked up a good bit of hot air and thought something was wrong, SES light
Easy fix, disconnected battery, relocated intake filter & never had a problem since

'04 LS Sport Auto Sedan, it allready has 201 miles.
03 fire with 27000 some odd miles on it no motor problems, just a/c controls stopped working and my blinkers keep going crazy even though dealer has fixed them both twice but nothing major or motor related.
i actually have 2 cars with the ecotec motor in them, one is my 02 ls sport with a 4 speed auto, 29xxx k miles and thisis the list so far: replaced the whole ignition system (the whole part that says ECOTEC, replace idle air control solenoid, and im on my second tranny, needed the computer reflash'd. my wife and i just picked up a 04 malibu classic with a ecotec in it, and a 4 speed auto, it has 31+K on it and it runs better then my car does, so nothin so far, but we bought it with 30 k on it already, chevy certified used. my buddy has a 02 ls sport, and he has close to 25k on it, and no engine problems, but the tranny was poppin out of 3rd. he rebult it, and the syncros between 2nd and 3rd were shot, from what i understand. and when i say he rebuilt it, hes a chevy mechanic for a dealer here in chicago, and the ONLY guy that touches my car when it goes in for service. so he knows what hes doin, and he did all my work as well as his car under warrenty, so needless to say, i have no worries about him. hope this helps. but all in all, i love my car, and my wifes new malibu. and if anyone cares, the 04 malibu classic is the body style from 97-03, just this one says CLASSIC where it use to say MALIBU. so no, i dont have that new hell body style. lol take care!!

I have an 04 LS Sport Sedan. Bought in October with 6 miles on it....now have 7,000. Haven't had any motor problems, but ever since 3,000 miles or so the transmission slips between 2nd and 3rd when cold. It's annoying and is progressively getting worse. I'll wait for it to get bad enough so it's obvious to the dealer (otherwise they say there's nothing wrong).
I love the car...it replaced a 97 Cavalier coupe with 187,000. And before that I had a 1990 Cavalier Sedan with 190,000. I hope I can get the same mileage out of the 04!! The transmission has me worried though!
update just hit 56,xxx now and its still going .........only problem is a clunk when i hit the breaks.........hmmmmm ohh well its nothing bad so I am told.... <br>
