Berettas came with 3100s and 5sp., right? Couldn't he just drop one of those in?

Contact Digital Horsepower they can reflash the PCM for manual applications . The reason I used the TEC3 instead of reflashing the PCM was at the time NO ONE reflashed the 3X00 PCM's .

Plus I plan on turboing the engine later this year and want to be able to tune everything after it is all running . Another thing is I can load different BIN files ( daily driver , drag , fuel economy ) does'nt matter just needs a laptop hooked up .

You do not need a custom subframe under the front end with a 3X00 swap . But bracing the stock subframe would not hurt if you plan on taking it to the track on weekends .

The manual tranny from the J-body will work ( Raven has been using the Getrag from a 00+ ) everything seems to work fine .

Yes if you are going from a auto to a manual you will need to swap out axles . If you are going from a 4t40-E to a 4T60-E or 4T65-E you will have to work on the axles . You will use the outter CV joints and axles from the J-body with the inner CV joints and stubs from the 4T60-E or 4T65-E axles from the donor car .

Yes going with the manual trannny will run a little more because GM never planned on installing a V6 with a manual in a FWD ( after 1995 ) . That is why you have to send the PCM off to be reflashed .

The automatic swap can be done easier and cheaper compared to the manual swap . But it boils down to what you really want auto or manual . You could do the auto swap first then go to the manual later on . You would still have some of the expenses of swapping over to a manual involved not to mention the PCM is only setup for automatic . So you would have to send it off to be reflashed anyway .

You will need to have some of your hoses custom made .
