I was checking the fluids underneath the hood yesterday and i noticed that my power steering fluid was kinda low, I had my wheels turned a bit and the engine was cold not sure if that has an affect or not (someone?). Anyways I took a look at the owners manual it says to use GM power steering fluid, should i stick with that or just go for the aftermarket brand?

BTW its a 2001 Z24

If the book says to use GM fluid then use it. they may have added something to it to keep the pump from arriating and making lots o' noise.

I bought some fluid (not GM) at Canadian Tire, it says it satisfys GM requirements, and it even gave a specifc part number (matched) so I got that one.
