DRL Flashes with new headlamp bulbs!
Saturday, March 26, 2005 5:35 PM
I recently purchased some new 9007 bulbs for my 2002 cavalier and the link to the ones that I bought is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7955627021&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6
And now when I put it in gear to activate the DRL's, they flicker ten times or so and then shut off plus the service light turns on. Also after I turn off the ignition and start it up a again the same problem happens again. If anyone thinks they know what the problem is please let me know or if anyone can fix the problem please let me know!!!
Thanks

Yes low beams and high beams? and the relay is already a 30amp relay cause I checked that. And fuses are fine!!!

I figured it out! I did some testing with the old bulbs. I put the old bulbs in and everything worked fine, then I took one out and the DRL's started acting up. Thank god the bubls had warranty and now i just wait till the new ones get shipped to me and i can have my super whites back.

Let this be a leasoned learned to me and everyone else...
P.S. the american watts for the bulbs were actually 85/80 and no need for a bigger relay just new bulbs...

I had the exact same problem with my car when one of my headlights went out.

I was under the assumption I had a bad fuse or realy or soemthing, it turns out one of the low beams on a 9007 in my car was burnt out.

I would check that, Im 99% certain that's your problem.

I have silverstars in my 96Z24 and its a simular prob not the bulbs prob though ive had them for a while. lows dont work and neither do the drls and the stupid light turns on as it pleases and blinks a little. (the yellow drl light) bought a new switch and then a new relay and nothing and somtimes my drls come on and somtimes my lows work but rarly think the wiring is F@#%ed. Ive friged around with it alittle bit and nothing so far Its been very annoying and costed me $140 for nothing so far...
