What does it do and where is it at on a 97 Z24 Cavalier? I know where to get a new one from (Autozone $10) but I can't change it if I can't find it. And I am really not sure what it eaven does??????

It tells the computer the temp of the incoming air, and the computer uses it in some fuel maps and calculations. The sensor is located in your S-Tube, if you can't find your S-Tube (black intake S shaped tube), I'll need to drag you out back and beat you with one for a while.

On the S-tube there will be a sensor sticking out of it (its the only one on the tube). It has 2 wires going to it. You have to unclip the sensor and then pull the sensor out of the S-Tube (its in there extremely tight). The new sensor gets put back into that hole, very carefully, don't want to damage the new one. Then just clip the wires back on and go.

If you have an auto:
Check engine light
TRAC Off light (only on the 4T40E's I think)
Rough shifting
Bad gas mileage
Irratic idle

Manual:
Check engine light
Bad gas mileage

so the "air charge sensor" is the same as the "intake air temp sensor"?
