im looking into possibly buying a new cavalier soon and i have a few questions.....id like an 03-up white ls sport w/ a 5spd.....but its not my first choice.....if i can find a 00-02 z24/ls sport id rather have it.....my question is did they make a 02 ls sport (with the lip kit) cavalier in white??? i have yet to see one and ive been lookin for a few months now
and does the lip kit that GM makes fit on the 00-02 z24 bumpers? or is it base model bumpers? or both?
I have an 01 and 02 original brochure and they show it was available for both those years. I might be wrong but the Z24/ls lip kit that everyone wants was only available mid year 01 and all of 02. The lip kit will fit stock bumpers but you have to do a lot of work to make it fit - cut the slots in the bottom of the bumpers to let the mounting tabs of the kit go up into the bottom of the bumper cover, then put the retaining clips on. I bought GM bumpers and all the pieces of the lip kit to put on my sedan.

i have a 00 cavy white no lip but my friend from work has a 02 4dr ls (navy blue)and has a lip
a coupe.....i figured the ls sports in 02 probably did come in white, its just ive never seen a color besides navy blue, silver, yellow, and black
probably just a rare car, but you said the lips will fit on the stock bumpers with some work....so im guessing thats the same deal with the 00-02 z24 bumpers as well
I have seen one 2 door with the lip in White. Putting the lip on a stock/Z24 bumper is not that hard. As long as your good with a dremel.

It's an auto or id be all over it......
the gm kits fits 00-02 any model.. they made ls-sports with eco's from 2002.5 an on.. they werent offered in white with lip kits.. or id never seen one. an i looked for 2 years
the Yellow replaced the White........ the Z's you could get in white, but not yellow....

ok i have another question now....i figured the 02 ls sport was not made in white, so did the base model cavaliers in the 2nd half of 02 still have the eco or did the 2200 run the in base models all that year?
if the base models had the ecotec also i could find one of those in white, then just get the lip kit for it
if not im probably gonna have to go with the 03-up
The models with the 2200, are Sports.... not LS Sports....
they dont have the fog lights, painted door handles, or mirrors, but they have the lip kits, red bow ties, and chrome tip.

In Canada, it was the VL Sport... 2200 engine, everything the Z24 had including the red badging, but no fog lights. Shame on GM Canada!

i have a 2002 z24 with the lip...navy blue though.
but i wanted to say, if you want a 5-speed, you're likely better off with the ecotec so that you avoid the dreaded, unavoidable getrag tranny noise!! you'll hate it.

it is the same trans buti remeber reading somewhere that GM fixed the problem in the new cavaliers
My 02 Z never made a trans noise....... and neither did my 02 LS Sport Sedan.........
besides.... its just a little noise (from what I've heard in other Z's) nothing turning up the radio cant fix..... or even putting an intake and exhaust on it...... but some people just complain to much.

I found a REALLY nice 2002 ls sport today at my local dealer. I went in and talked to the salesman and got a quote of 7,350. It had it all. Fog lights, lip kit, painted mirrors and all. red badges. He popped the hood cause he didnt know what it had. I saw that little 2200 and told him it wasnt worth the money and i'd find another car. he acted shocked cause of how i acted. he tried to talk me into anyway even after i said eco or 2.4

I think 7g's is outragous for a 2200 cav. heck, the 05's are at like 9g's right now, maybe even 8.
the only ones to come with a lip are yellow, red, blue, and black

Silver too euric. If I were you and you want it white that bad just buy one and then have it painted white. You could probably find one for somewhere around 6800 if you looked hard enough because unfortunately our cars have terrible resale value.

yea i think what im gonna do is find a 00-02 z24 in white, 5spd, then just get the lips and get them painted, put them on....slap the GM charger on and yummm
