update. car is now at 208,640
my '01 is @ 180,000 give or take a couple k...... I believe its the original engine. Still runs like a champ, and spanks the @!#$ out of V6 mustangs!

I've heard that the water pump weep hole runs into the oil pan and coolant eats up the bearings pretty quickly. Maybe that's what causes that for some people.
at 160K My Z gave me 3 days warning before my #4 cylinder grenaded getting 0n 880 in san jose................. it all started with a little tick and by day three it sounded like an ape breaking baseball bats on an anvil. my new crate motor has 5k on it

Best guess is 220K. I have put at least 20K on it since installing it.
My 98 just rolled 106K the other day. That engine has a long way to go to catch up to my 02.
just broke 125k. just replaced the water pump 4 months ago, put in secret cams and a whole new timing set while i was in there. started seeing metal shavings in the oil the oil change b4 all the work. she'll probably blow soon, but im in the process of saving to get a newer one, so im not really too upset
202,875 mi. on my 98 Z. Runs great but the trans is quite crunchy.

My 00 Z has 59000 miles, original motor ran good, pulled out and rebuilt for boost. Motor has 1500 miles on it now.

Glad to hear it's still rockin. Now my car has 198,000, but the engine only 8,000.

My 96 vert has189,000 miles on it, I get a crappy 25mpg average, eats oil and is starting to run a little rough. I hope it last a little longer before I need to replace it. The auto trans is starting to feel funny too...not quite slipping but close. On the bright side my 01 Z has about 56k on it and running strong. When I put my forged, built shortblock in that bottom end and a bunch of other goodies are going in the vert.

Its parked for the most part now. I like driving my 98 much more than the 02. the 98 will pass the 108K mark this weekend, yeah I know its just broken in by about 8K.

Our Sunfire had 112,000 on it and just after I replaced the waterpump and timing chane the dang thing spun a bearing and started knocking, now it won;t even start.. Anyone have a low mileage 2.4 for sale?

I think I'm pretty handy to 190,000kms (118,000miles). This will be the second motor rebuild for the car, but only because I wanted to, car was still running strong the end of the year. I had about 60,000kms on the motor after I rebuilt it the first time. I think when I bought the car with a blown motor it had 125,000kms.
dam 86,000 mile even just turned and dam gm premature bearing failure. dam she was soo young. ripped out and gonna rebuilt better with2.3 pump mod.

Sun 97 2.2lL 117 606 kms run perfectly buyed with 91000kms from a granny lol. New parts need to be changed each month but other than that......Previous owner changed the headgasket due to an exterior leak and replaced the intake gasket by silicone .. result clugged egr valve...duh..
