I got rid of my Grand am (01 2.4) with 103K. I was putting more money into keeping the bastard running than I was making. So I traded it on my Cavy. That's the last 2.4 I ever own.
My '00 Cavi just rolled over 99,000 miles today. No engine problems at all.
Just hit 102,000... When I purchased the car, it had 48 miles on it.
I've had to replace the water pump (@ 95,000 miles)...
Other than that, no problems under the hood.
My 01 2.4 has 102,000 miles - no problems - does not use oil, and I change it every 3 months/6,000 miles
127,000 miles with no major problems...tranny does feel a little week though but car runs fine..Only problems were the blower motor and the right window motor both died...
Also just changed the suspension at 126,000 for the first time.
I just hit 177,750 Miles on my 1997 2.4 Z24
I'm fixing to hit 177,777 this weekend. no major problems, just oil change and I change all filters
Im at 67,800 on my 99.
I bought it used in 98 (go figure) I was the 2nd owner.
No real engine problems yet
Say it with me, "Its not what you know...It's what you can prove"
I have 102,000 on my 96 and only replaced water pump once and tranny(tranny was my fault)
"Boost tuning"....... have you had your 8 PSI today?

nothing as of yet regarding any issues.. other than that this engine loves oil!
well at 86,000km my engine light came on.... then it was off... then on again.... i got it read and the code was a misfire on cyl#2 ... since the light was off i never bothered with it untill it came on again and there was a noticealble rough idle.... so i changed all the plugs with NGK IRADIUM... no engine light yet.. and the engine is alot smoother.
note... the plug on #2 was the easiest to loosen.... these were also the stock plugs. all the build up and what not was the same on all 4.
69,700 on my 99z24.aside from my mishap with an 88 olds, nothin'sbeenreplacedon the motor.(new intake manifold due to accident). still got bugs from the mishap butstill love the car!!
