How do I get the head light out so I can get to the bulb to change my bulbs. I took out the 2 top bolts but could not get the light assembly to come off is there something I'm missing here? Is it really that hard to do?

There is a slot on the top black plastic piece, on the corner lamp side. If you take a flashlight and look down into the slot, you'll see that the corner lamp is clipped to the headlight. If you take a long screwdriver and push the clip towards the center of the car, and push the corner light out at the same time, the corner light will pop out, and then you can take the headlight out.

Yup, that is how to do it. It is confusing because none of the manuals I have describe removing the cluster in that manner. They all say "remove bolts, remove headlamp cluster". Took me awhile to figure out the correct method.

Does anyone have a diagram as to showing where the clip is to remove the corner lamp. For one so I can get the bulb changed and two for when I get clear corners for my car. thanks

Haha... you got a third phase... loser. lol.

On the second phases you just take off the two bolts, grab and pull, hard. Basically how everything else comes off our cars. No need to disconnect the corner marker from the headlight until after it is taken out, if needed.

Maybe that will wrok on yours? Maybe not.

^ It won't. The directions I posted need to be followed, otherwise you'll break the mount where the corner light mounts to the headlight.

I like this better than my 98 (which is first phase by the way, 2000-2002 are second phase, and 3rd phase are 2003-2005). On my 98 to change the corner lights I had to screw around with those stupid plastic posts that you force thread a sheetmetal nut onto, talk about cheap. The 2k+ could stay together if you hit it with a mack truck, the 95-99's the plastic posts would break off real easy.

i'm guessing you already took off the black plastic cover piece. but there should be a little hole above each corner light. its small but if you look in it you should see a little triangular thingy, thats what you have to push on with a screw driver. its hard to describe without pictures..i hope i helped

It is right were the headlight and corner light meet.

On mine I only have to take the corner light off when i'm reinstalling. When i'm taking the assembly out all I do is lift up, tilt the top towards me, and pull out. works everytime
