OBDII power problems

okay today my check engine light came on..... usually no big deal...........so i asked my boss if i could take the scanner home

well when i went to plug into the car.... it didnt power the scanner up.... im like hmmm odd..... moms check engine light was on as well so i plugged into her car(1997 sunfire 2.2).... did the same thing...........walked next door and plugged it into my gpas envoy.... powered right up

so my question is....... is anyone else having similar problems or doesnt anyone else happen to know whats causing this?

Ok... you'd be surprised around here I didn't know you worked at a shop!!!

Fuse?

Or is it not seated all the way? I've had issues with my scanner and the stupid plug not being pushed ALL the way in... I thought I was going to break the metal support off it was so hard to push on.

I have the same problem no one around here has been about to read any codes for me I've used at least 5 different scanners and none of them will pull power like they should

and Yes I've checked all of my fuses and they are all good I'm lost as to where to go from here.

john... is that why you keep buying cavaliers like they are packets of skittles? one day yer car just up and decideds not to let you get codes and yer like "fine screw you.. yer gettin replaced!"? lol
