my 99z (2.4) took a crap on me at 83k. I need a new motor to swap in obviously, would a 2.4 out of any other car work? (such as a grand am, malibu, alero) ?? Also would the year of the car matter? i know several changes were made to the 2.4, but as long as it will bolt up and run fine with my isuzu tranny it doesnt matter.

any 2.4 motor between 96 and 99 i believe it may be 2000, should work and will bolt up to the tranny. just rebuild it. it is funner!

i know people who swapped a 2.4 out of an alero into a cav. so i think it would work
