in my 1999 2.2 cavalier i do not have an rpm gauge... ive got gas gauge speed and temp. thats it. i do believe. but there is no rpm gauge anywhere. anyone else noticed this. or is it just my car.

Heck mine did'nt have a tach in it . What is strange is an automatic will come with a tach . But my car which is a manual did'nt have one ? Why do you need a tach in an auto when it is going to shift when it needs to ? Thats is like beating a retard at a math test .

base cars didnt not have tachs
upper level cars did
looks like i suck again. its not worth the trouble of goin on and gettin a new car. ill deal i thought it was just me.

You don't need a new car just an instrument cluster with a tach. Either check the junkyards or Ebay.

Oh well base models do wiegh less and now mine does have a tach , a V6 , 160 MPH speedo , very large exhaust , and some other wild ideas coming soon .

you cant just go grab a new cluster from 98 and 99 the mileage is stored in the cluster. So if you change it your going to have the old mileage from the cluster replacement.

i had a 97 2.2 ohv with the 3 speed and didnt have a tach. but now i have a 2002 z24 with a tach. Dont feel left out its just something gm did so the customer could save money. A tachometer was an option cause gm built the cavalier to be a economy car not a racer.

my 95 2200 5 speed didn't have a tach, and my 02 2.2L 5 speed didn't have a tach either.
hope you have a shift light. man that would suck if the bulb burnt out on you.
CAR GODS MADE THE 1.6 SOHC TO MAKE US 2.2 OHV GUYS FEEL BETTER.
i dont use the light but it does work.... you can pretty much tell by engine sound that you need to shift

dont have a tach, and mine is a 5spd also
i wish i had one, but i still run just as good 1/4 mile times and the guys with them, i can do it by just the tone of the exhuast
