engine and wiring swap.

im converting my 95 cav. from a 2.2 to a 2002 2.4 dohc turbo. the interior wiring is similar and just have a few fuses in different spots on the curcuit. i was just wondering if i can use the interior wiring harness thats in the car and just hook it up to the 2.4 engine harness.

why did you go with a 2.4???????

You could have went with a 2.3 Ho and get 180hp/160lbs compared to the 150/150 from the 2.4. The 2.4 doesn't have any top end compared to the 2.3. For the same price, you would have been better with a turbo setup.

I use to have alist of parts from this swap. You'll need to rewire car to be ob2 if u want to use the 02 pcm. and weld in new tranny mounts if u want to use the getrag tranny. the pcm need the 02 cluster, and bcm, which are part of the 0b2 interior wiring harness. the gas tank fuel pump goes to bcm/ip cluster. so is diff from 95, so if the evap system.

if he had gone with a 2.3 it would be the same engine as yours and he might start to answer questions with more questions instead of simply offering advice

mm... think for the same reason i didn't go with one. Hard to find, and the cost to rebuil it. But then again, i went new b/c i wanted the gm s/c for durable power.

yeah really, i know you didnt ask this, but with you still being OBDI going with the 2.3HO would have been alot easier then doing a 2.4 swap where you have to wire it up for OBDII.
