2.0 Supercharged swap

Just wondering if anyone has tried swapping in the 2.0 supercharged ecotec into a j-body? Everyone I talked to has said you should be able to but no one has tried it.

I know Airtronics has put the supercharger off of it onto his 2.2 Eco

why would you do that when you can just put a supercharger on your own engine and get the same power

Airtonics has done it.

Direct swap. Just gotta follow the instructions GM gives in the ecotec handbook to install it.

Does the 2.0 manifold bolt up directly to 2.2 head? I've been thinking of doing this, but didn't know if it would be a direct fit.

Oh the reason why I would do the swap and not just add a supercharger is that I have a 2200 in my car now that has close to 100,000 miles on it. I would rather just get the 2.0 with the supercharger because it would cost me just as much to buy a new engine and then buy the supercharger and then have the worries of putting it all together when I could kill two birds with one stone and have the gm warranty. Unless you have a better idea.

^ You really wouldn't have the GM warranty unless you put it in the vehicle it was intended for.

I'm looking around for a 2.0. I don't plan on using the sc off of it.

If your still considering it I may have one in about 2 weeks. Out of a Cobalt SS that overheated, warped the head 25 thousandths. It may need some work but I am replacing it with a production assembly so I have everything that you would get in the kit I believe.

It has 147 miles on it.
