hey im thinking about buying a 2.4 motor from the local junk yard and building it up with pistons, rods, cams ect and i was wondering if this book would help me on the tearing down and building it up? http://www.delmarlearning.com/browse_product_detail.aspx?catid=11982&isbn=0801991145 thanks

It will give you the basic info on tearing down and rebuilding the engine .

Or another option is to check E-Bay for the actual GM service manual's for your year car . The GM service manuals blow the crap out of Chilton or Haynes manual's .

Agreed. Go with the actual GM Manuals, they will take you thoroughly through doing everything, with torque specs, the full 9 yards to a tee.
