Engine dying. Need help BAD

For some time now my battery light comes on and my dash will lose power for a second or two. Thougght it was the battery but it happened again. Replaced the alt. and tightened all the cable but it is still dying. Does anyone have a clue because I'm stumped. Maybe the computer is not telling the engine to recharge itself? How the heck should I know!! Help PLEASE.

ok......engine does not charge or recharge or anything.....check and see if you reconnected the red power wire off the side of the alternator, also check and see what the output is...it should be 14.8 volts or somewhere around that number, check the battery cables and make sure they are free of corrosion and shorts

Hmm.. I've had that EXACT same problem, and it was the ground on the battery tray all corroded. I cleaned it up (actually, I replaced the wire with a heavier gauge one) and it was fine after that.
