do i have to have a computer to run an efi car? what would i need to run a straight motor without all the emmissions garbage? ign modules, coils, etc? btw its an automatic

you need to learn how an engine work before even thinking about that.

If you don't want to run a computer, you need a carburator.

Coils - Even the carburated engine have them

Ignition module - you still have one close to that.

yeah... pretty much ever car has an ECU. well anything semi-modern.

Some just aren't very hi-tech. But for a auto tranny of todays nature you need to have a ecu to control shifting.

agreed , the 4t40e is all electronic ! no kickdown cable

mine is stock and it is pretty wicked , i love the way it kicks you back in your seat !
